Nottingham BID has delivered the Best Bar None scheme for Nottingham City Centre since 2010. In 2016 we achieved a record number of accreditations for the Nottingham city centre scheme, with 75 businesses meeting the Best Bar None standard.
The Nottingham city centre Best Bar None scheme not only accredits businesses who successfully meet the criteria, but incentivises businesses to achieve higher scores through the bronze, silver and gold accreditations based on different thresholds. The highest scoring businesses in each of the four categories (Best Bar, Club, Pub and Restaurant) are then put forward to panel of independent licensing experts to choose a winner based on how they go above and beyond the criteria to run safe and enjoyable venues.
The Best Bar None scheme for 2017 is now underway and two additional categories have been added; Best Cocktail Bar and Best Independent Operator. Winners will be announced at an award ceremony in early September.
In 2016, the category winners were:
Best Restaurant: Bistro Live
Best Bar: Faradays
Best Pub: The Company Inn
Best Nightclub: Volt
