Best Bar None Awards in Southampton

THE cream of Southampton’s nightlife were honoured at a glitzy awards bash.

Café Parfait was crowned the overall winner at The Southampton Best Bar None Awards, beating last year’s triumphant venue The Dancing Man into second place.

Best Bar None is an accreditation scheme supported by the Home Office and the drinks industry which is aimed at promoting responsible management and operation of alcohol licensed premises.

Local pubs, bars and clubs submitted themselves to rigorous assessments earlier in the year to demonstrate they meet the high standards of premises management required by the Best Bar None scheme.

A total of 34 premises in the city applied to be a part of the scheme. A black tie awards ceremony was held in the Grand Harbour Hotel when 280 members of the licensed trades in Southampton attended. Superintendent Alison Heydari presented the overall runner up prize and Councillor Sue Blatchford, who chairs the licensing committee in Southampton, presented the overall winner prize.
