4 New areas announce dates for Best Bar None Launch

Four new areas have set dates to launch Best Bar None schemes.

Leicester Square – A brand new scheme is going to be managed and coordinated by the Heart of London Business Alliance (HoLba). HoLba, working in partnership with Westminster City Council and the industry to roll out the scheme in the existing Purple Flag area. The launch date is set for Monday 30/10/2017 where MP’s, Councillors, industry leaders and venue operators will gather to support the event. It is hoped that a successful pilot, the scheme will be rolled out in other areas of Westminster.

Sunderland – After a very successful initial steering group meeting, the group have decided to launch the new Best Bar None Scheme on Wednesday 15/11/2017 where venue operators will be invited to attend and pick up their application forms. The scheme  will be managed and financially supported by the Sunderland Business Improvement District (BID).

Barnsley – Barnsley is launching a brand new Best Bar None scheme on Tuesday 14/11/2017. The steering group which is chaired by Public Health and supported by the industry, the police and local authority were very keen to get the scheme launched before Christmas. Public Health have already allocated funding to support the scheme in it’s first year and have already booked assessor training to ensure they can start the assessment process as soon as the application phase closes.

London Bridge / Southbank – The forth scheme to launch will be a joint venture between two Business Improvement Districts (BID’s) Team London Bridge and Southbank BID. The two BID’s have agreed to fund jointly fund the project and at the latest steering group meeting, it was decided to launch this brand new scheme on Wednesday 1/11/2017, when venue managers will be invited to attend and pick up an application form and a scoring criteria bookletThe steering group consisting of Council officers, police and trade members is chaired by a local councillor are very busy finalising timings and a venue for the event
